The Capital Yuan Tao team, based in Shanghai, is comprised of an experienced Chinese team of executives from leading private equity firms, management consulting firms and MNCs, in addition to our colleagues at American Securities (see overview page). Capital Yuan Tao team members have a unique combination of investment, business strategy, operations, human resources and private equity team-building skills specific to China. These skills enable them to evaluate the quality of GPs and their respective underlying portfolio of companies for investment.

Through American Securities' on-the-ground team of 12 professionals, Capital Yuan Tao's comprehensive database of China-based GPs, and the network and track record built over Fund I, the Capital Yuan Tao team has strong access to Chinese GPs to further build its business.

Shirley Chu, Associate
Shirley Chu joined the American Securities China team as an associate in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as senior business analyst with A.T. Kearney in the Beijing and Shanghai offices. Her previous experience focused on the energy and industrial sectors. She helped both large SOEs and MNCs in China to conduct due diligence, strategy development and business process re-engineering projects.

Ee-Ping Ong, China Country Head
American Securities

Ee-Ping Ong is China Country Head and has been with American Securities since early 2007. Working in the Shanghai office, Ee-Ping focuses on value addition to current U.S. portfolio companies and due diligence on potential U.S. investments with China or Asia-Pacific implications. He also performs general China and international industry studies and conducts due diligence on potential portfolio companies.

Prior to American Securities, Ee-Ping worked as a consultant and manager with Bain & Company Asia, also based in Shanghai, where he worked with clients from various industries to structure their China strategy and improve other tactical areas. He has served as an advisor to local and multi-national clients in a variety of industries, ranging from manufacturing and logistics to consumer goods across the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, he has created entry and growth strategies, performed organizational diagnostics, developed performance improvement plans and facilitated joint-venture negotiations.

Ee-Ping attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BS in Computer Science from the School of Engineering & Applied Science. He also received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Michael G. Fisch, President & CEO
American Securities

Michael Fisch is a founder of American Securities and has been its president since inception in 1994. He is a managing member of American Securities and the associated American Securities Partners' series of private equity affiliates which have combined committed capital of more than $8 billion. Before founding American Securities, Michael was a financial advisor to the William Rosenwald family in 1993, a partner in two private equity funds, a consultant in the Paris office of Bain & Company and a professional in the mergers and acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs.

Michael has authored a number of articles, lectured at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and appeared as a guest on national television programs, all on private equity and investing. He received a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University.

Charles D. Klein, Managing Director
American Securities
Chuck Klein is a founder of American Securities and has been a managing director since its inception in 1994. He served as senior financial advisor to the William Rosenwald family from 1978 to 2002.

Earlier in his career, Chuck was with Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, where he was designated as an "All-Star" analyst by Institutional Investor magazine. He is a retired member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York Society of Security Analysts. Chuck earned a BA Bard College and an LLB from New York University’s School of Law.

Gregory J. Nolff, Cheif Financial Officer
American Securities
Greg Nolff has overseen the activities for multiple funds and affiliates of American Securities since 2003, and has served as chief financial officer since 2005. Previously, he was vice president of finance at an aerospace structural component manufacturer and the CFO of an affiliated private equity firm focused on industrial manufacturing companies, in addition to holding several senior management positions with Deloitte & Touche's M&A practice in New York. Greg earned a BS in Accounting from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Central Florida.

Eric L. Schondorf, General Counsel
American Securities
Eric Schondorf is the general counsel for several funds within American Securities. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Eric spent five years at Weil, Gotshal & Manges as Of Counsel in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department representing companies, investors, senior lenders and bondholders in complex restructurings. Eric was also vice president and general counsel of Metallurg, an international producer and seller of high-quality specialty metals, alloys and metallic chemicals. In his early career, Eric was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges where he focused on banking and finance, private equity investments, high yield offerings, public company representations and mergers and acquisitions. Eric earned a BA from Yale University and a JD from New York University’s School of Law.

David Maue, Chief Administrative Officer
American Securities
David Maue joined American Securities in 2007 as chief administrative officer and oversees all internal processes within the firm. David is focused on helping manage organizational growth and professional development of colleagues.

Previously, David spent 15 years at McKinsey & Company and was a partner in the Media, Entertainment & Information Services Practice. His earlier experience there spans consulting to CEOs across a wide range of industries as well as holding several operational and talent management roles within McKinsey & Company's global organization. David earned a BA from Haverford College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
